*NEW* Feature Friday - Talented 26th Of August

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Talented

Happy Friday everyone! And welcome again to another edition of Feature Friday; This is a business which I couldn't have been more thankful for.
I recently held the NottsAlzheimersMeet-up which you may or may have not known about, and they kindly donated their gorgeous tote bags for the ladies to take all their goodies home with them! With great customer service, friendly staff on hand to answer any questions or in my case worries some may have they did a brilliant job and it's my pleasure to welcome them to you.

I shall be doing a separate blog post in regards to my meet-up so keep an eye out for that as I've got plenty of posts to upload soon. Shopper bags this day and age have become more essential to us as we all divert away from the 5p carrier bag, alternatives are tote bags which I have a vast selection of at home and have found them handy when it comes to meetings, shopping and days out! Talented are a company that provide eco-friendly bags with all different types of designs and gifts for occasions. It was a pleasure to find out more information about this lady behind the brand and her future goals as a businesswoman!

-------------------------------------------------------
Interview with Julia Gash l Company Director of Talented

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
I draw map like illustrations, called Cityscapes, of places around the world, to commission and these are printed onto ethically made and eco-friendly tote bags, giftware and stationery. Travel and culture around the world is my inspiration! I love discovering new places, whether its through my work or in the flesh.  My other two design inspirations are my cats Bobby and Jimmy who keep me sane every day: http://www.madebytalented.com/collections/the-adventures-of-bobby-jimmy and Facebook page – Bigbobandlittlejim

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I love the creativity of illustrating a place and seeing it come together on product. The best thing is when I actually walk into a store and see it on sale or even better, see it swinging from someone's arm in some far flung place!

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
Winning the National SME Business Leader Award at the Institute of Directors was a significant achievement, visiting Buckingham Palace and having a visit to our print studio from Princess Anne are other amazing memories.

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
Cityscaping my way around the world. Spending more time designing, travelling and mentoring start ups and small businesses that are focused on growing internationally.

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
Life and work is a journey with many, surprising twists and turns. You have to be prepared to give 100% and more and be able to pick yourself up and dust yourself down time after time.  Do what you are good at and enjoy – because you are going to spend lots of hours doing it!

6) Which would you say is your favorite item from the Talented website at the moment?
The New York Tote Bag. I am going there to a trade show next week and this tote bag is tormenting every day as I just want to be there!   http://www.madebytalented.com/products/new-york-medium-tote

Events To Check Out! Lou Lou's Vintage Fair #2

Lou Lou's Vintage Fair Nottingham
My experience at the award winning fair that covers the UK!

Hey there loves! I'm thrilled to be bringing to you another of my experiences at one of the UK's popular events; Lou Lou's Vintage fair! Now, some of you may or may not know that I'm like a kid in a candy shop when it comes to vintage stores, that's because I have a passion for the 1950s fashion, beauty and morals. It's been a style that I've developed over time and find it my most comfortable look to have. The 50s was known for their poodle skirts and pin curls and I find it such a beautiful and glamorous era that a little find is like treasure to me.

I've heard a lot about Lou Lou's as they usually take place in cities all over the UK and because Nottingham is the city I tend to most visit, seeing that they had one arriving there this month was something I couldn't pass up.

The event took place in the stunning Albert Hall in Nottingham, where like minded fans gathered, stalls were covered in all things vintage and they played music that would make you do a happy little jig through the speakers.

For this event, there were two floors of vintage stalls from furniture and china teacups to handmade bespoke hats and children's dresses. From arriving at the ticket desk, there were small tables where you could have a nice cup of tea and homemade cake from Lil's Parlour to even a pop up salon with the Diamond Diva's on hand to make those gorgeous victory rolls come alive!

It was pleasant to see lots of handmade crafts too, with flowing conversations of their passion and ideas which I give them all my very best to.

I did bag some bargains too! My go to stall had to be Minimum Mouse where I purchased some quirky brooches and 50s cat eye shades which I can't wait to model!

I would definitely recommend any vintage enthusiast to attend one of these fairs, just to collect inspiration or add to their collection.
I'm sure this will be the first of many fairs I'll be going to this year that's for sure!

For more details on when there is a Lou Lou's fair in your area, just check out their diary here

Until next time guys and dolls..

New Changes//New Jobs//Fresh Start

Hello my lovelies.
Yes it has been a while; So much has been happening it's been tricky to update you all!
Since October 2015 I started a seasonal job which I can truly say, changed my life for the better.

New Jobs..

Personally It's been difficult to find work as well as falling into something that I'm passionate about, I'm sure it's the same for many of you too and I started to feel that I needed to push myself and my boundaries and just 'give it a go!'
So when I applied for three jobs around the same time I wasn't overly surprised that two of the three didn't respond; I've been use to it.
I received an email asking me to attend an interview, and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands, a store that I admired from afar and always thought it would be amazing to be given a chance to prove myself. I was pretty nervous to be honest, It was a group interview and with 25 of us attending I wondered how I'd stand out during the activities and questions we were asked. I was just myself, that plain old Ellie.
It was a week that passed, and I got an email..
That stomach churning feeling began and I didn't want to click Open.. But I did.. And I read it.. I was trying to process the information and I looked again..
'You have been successful in your application for the seasonal position at Pandora'
I was gobsmacked. My time at Pandora was absolutely wonderful, I learnt so many new skills and gained knowledge on the items learning the in-depth craftsmanship that is put into each and every one. I built lovely friendships too with both staff old and new and was a pleasure to serve customers who wanted a gift to mark the most memorable moments of their lives. When my contract there came to an end it was quite emotional, it was like leaving part of a family behind but I have found confidence that I felt that I'd once lost thanks to them to proceed in my life with new opportunities to look forward to.

Events..

It's always a goal of mine to go to the yearly fashion event that is Clothes Show live in Birmingham, And during 2015 there was no expectation. I was keen to go during the Sunday due to my complete blogging idol, SprinkleOfGlitter, attending and luck may have it I was granted a press pass too! Meeting Louise was a joyous moment and one that I'll treasure always (I shall also be doing a separate blog post about my time at the clothes show with plenty of Pics galore!)
I have also been going to many Vintage fairs, dressed up to the nines as I'm channeling my inner vintage vixen! My passion has always been the 50s and pin-up inspired glamour, it is one of my goals in life to become an alternative model in the modeling world and find my inner self confidence through it. I've found attending these fairs and taking my camera along for the journey will build up to bigger things so we shall see!

What's to come for 2016?

Well, there is going to be some exciting posts as I'm focusing more on producing outfits with that unique twist, some amazing collaborations with a very special some one.. I'll also be putting together my first Bloggers meet-up which will be raising money for AlzheimersUK and yes maybe a sneaky bit of exposure in the Nottingham Weekend Post this Saturday 6th of February.

Make sure you're following me on Twitter @ellielouuu so you can keep updated on what's happening!
Much love to you all,

Let The Fingers Do The Talking - NailGals Review*

NailGals Handpainted False Nails
Review

Hi there lovelies, Wishing you all a happy Friday and the start to your weekend. Things for me have been quite manic to say the least but i'm pleased to bring to you a review of something I was kindly sent by the company, NailGals!
NailGals is ran by two cousins who share the passion of Nail art by creating designs which first started as a hobby, that's now progressed into trading from the comfort of their own home.
They create designs using various materials and can personalize them also according to the customer's specific wishes. When they contacted me and after a long look at their gorgeous nails that they have on their website, I notified them anything Pink, vintage and lace would be my ideal choice.

All comments and opinions are 100% my own and I've not been paid to say them.
----------------------------------------------------

Here is what I was surprised with, Packaged in a white box and safely protected under soft meshing...

Gorgeous Right?! I was shocked and pleased with how they looked and had to find the right moment to wear them. They were a stiletto nail shape and came with glue provided as well as instructions for applying and removing safely.
Only a small amount of glue was needed as it already had incredible hold; before applying the nails I ensured I had picked the right size for each of my own nails and made sure that I was happy with the coverage.

The nail shape was really fun to try out, seeing as if I've used false nails before they've been oval mainly, I felt very confident with 'claws'! The overall design of the nails fitted my personality perfectly, with the floral pattern reminding me of Cath Kidston and the crystals for the added touch of classiness!

I was very pleased overall with the nails, and have some left to use in the future too which can spruce up my nails anytime!

GNS - Shampoo & Conditioner - Thoughts and Review*

GNS Professional Deep Moisturising
Shampoo and Conditioner
Thoughts and review

Hi my lovelies! Happy Sunday to you all;
Today I'm bringing a review to you about a Hair care brand I was contacted about which always makes me excited because I'm forever looking for new products to help treat my hair on those off days! GNS is a brand that had been established in 2014 and the creator, Sandy Gordon, who's a keen wearer of hair-extensions, wanted to find hair products that could treat both extensions and natural hair. She created products which became a benefit for salons and clients alike due to the much needed gap in the market.

My hair type is quite a mixture due to having naturally thick hair, sometimes quite dry but also it's been coloured for many years so to re-boost the health and moisture is something I look for when trying any new product. I put this duo to the test and here are my overall findings!

All comments and opinions are 100% my own and I've not been paid to say them.

GNS Ultra Moisturising Shampoo
Review

  • First of all, I love the style of the packaging, it is simple to open with a press function on the lid which props open the cap to then be poured.
  • The information is fully displayed on the bottle, including directions for use and ingredients.
  • I think that this is a great amount of product too because a little simply goes a long way, at 250ml I've been using this on a regular basis and it's barely gone down!
  • I think the main thought I've had on this shampoo has to be the scent.. I am in love with it! It smells just like a vanilla cake and seems good enough to eat, although you shouldn't!
  • All the ingredients are natural for example Macadamia oil and shea butter and I've noticed how refreshed my hair was during the first few washes; The scent also lasted much longer than I expected too which is a bonus.
  • The shampoo has kept my hair shinier and has helped seal any split hairs I've had feeling fully restored to it's best.
  • Personally for the price I do find it quite expensive compared to other brands I've tried, If it was more affordable I'm sure I'd purchase this regularly.
Currently this item is available to purchase through their direct website at a reduced price at £10.49 -  Buy Here

GNS Deep Moisturising Conditioner
Review
  • Just like the shampoo, the packaging is sleek and informative containing all necessary information such as directions of use.
  • This is perfect to use alongside the Shampoo because it is packed with the helpful ingredients to tackle dry/coarse hair. I found the conditioner to make my hair feel glossy not at all greasy especially within the roots.
  • I used a small amount for my hair and left it on for a couple of minutes, I wouldn't recommend doing this all of the time, but just when you feel like your hair is in need of a treat it makes a wonderful hair mask!
  • The scent of this conditioner is just the same sugary sweet goodness as the shampoo! It really is an addictive fragrance and makes me excited to use it!
  • With using this with the shampoo too it's a perfect pairing, because I have coloured hair I can worry on the way certain products react with it but this seemed to lock in the colour well from root to tip.
The conditioner is available to buy through the GNS website which is also reduced in price so get it while it's on offer lovelies! Buy Here

I'd recommend this range to anyone who has dry or heat damaged hair, including those who have hair extensions I'd love to hear if you've used this product on them and how the results have been in the comments section below!
