*NEW* Feature Friday - Vintage Vixen 27th of September

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Vintage Vixen

Hoorraaaah! It's finally that time again, running up to the weekend and bringing to you a new feature! This week's feature is packed with old fashion glamour bringing it to the town of Newark, Vintage Vixen.
They are a small independent store within the market town of Newark, selling Vintage clothing, handbags, accessories and home ware. The staff are so pleasant and friendly as soon as you walk through the door, helping you in any way if you have something in particular that you're hoping to find! Currently held a recent fashion show for customers and word of mouth to see their latests stock too with more events to come in the future!

-------------------------------------------------------
Interview with Clare Parker l Owner of Vintage Vixen

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
Funnily enough, I was put on short time at my office job when the recession hit and was looking for a way to earn a little extra cash. So I began with a market stall selling a small selection of vintage clothing one day a week. I have always had a keen interest in vintage clothes and a large wardrobe but never dreamt it would lead to a career change and to be honest sat on my market stall every Saturday in the sleet and sometimes the snow I thought a shop was 'pie in the sky' talk. But I gradually began to get regular customers and to this day their on going support has been absolutely tremendous. I then moved to the shop only opening on limited days and ran the business along side my 'day' job for a year before I was semi confidant to go for it. I have been full time at the shop for almost a year now and so far I have no regrets, it's great, hard work but great.

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
The fact that I practically skip to work every day! I love to please and it's fantastic to share someone's joy when they find that perfect dress for a certain occasion or they put on a jacket that makes them feel super confidant. I love sourcing specific items for customers and you really do meet so many lovely people in this job who have the same passion. I strive to create an eclectic mix of stock and my mind is constantly ticking with new ideas. I love sourcing specific items for people and still get an amazing buzz when new pieces arrive at the shop. I'm very lucky, I love my job, it's the best ..... certainly no Monday morning blues!

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
We're only just coming up to our second birthday at the shop so we're still a relatively new business but we have already held three fashion shows in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The first show was one of the scariest things I have ever done and we showcased well over 140 outfits that night, from original dresses from the 1950s and 60s to more modern vintage denim and leather, typical festival wear. At the end of the evening when the models walked the finale along with myself and my friends who had helped backstage I couldn't have been prouder. Needless to say there were tears. It was honestly the best night of my life.

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
It would be great to expand obviously, perhaps larger premises but we'll see! I am very keen to develop the online business. I currently have an Etsy shop linked to the website but tend to concentrate more on the shop to be honest at the moment. But online sales are now very much on my agenda and I intend to build a more prominent online presence as soon as possible, watch this space!

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
Test the water first, make sure the demand is high enough. Be prepared for long hours, hard work, no holidays, sounds terrible doesn't it???!!! But seriously there are good days and bad days, it's not easy but if you're passionate about it, people will almost certainly tell you you're crazy but go for it ..... life's too short for regrets.

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
I currently have some great original 1950s dresses and a good stock of vintage faux fur and sheepskin coats ready for the winter weather. We also have some fabulous vintage evening and cocktail dresses, costume jewellery, faux fur stoles and wraps in preparation for the party season I adore winter vintage fashion, tights, layers of knitwear, scarves under a curly sheepskin coat ..... in my opinion it's vintage at it's best!

It's been wonderful getting to know Clare and her business, and I wish them all the very best for the future!

Richard Ward - The Chelsea Collection Review*

Richard Ward
The Chelsea Collection

I was very thrilled to hear from Twitter, about a new hair care collection that has been exclusive to all Waitrose stores. Created by the celebrity hairdresser, Richard Ward, the Chelsea collection hit the shelves and I've been very impressed with my own product samples sent out for review.

All comments and opinions are 100% my own and I've not been paid to say them.

I've been excited to try out these products of course, seeing as I love to keep my hair maintained and by trial and error, hair products for me is sometimes a struggle when ensuring everything is covered, e.g. dry hair, thick hair, coloured and highlighted maintaining.

Initial Thoughts
Richard Ward Keratin Sleek Shampoo

-£5.99 for 250ml use within 12 months of purchase-

Upon receiving this product, I instantly noticed the design and style used for this collection. 'Sleek' and sophisticated the range had a complete professional feel which was actually Richard's intention, he wanted this range of his products to bring a professional salon feel to anyone's home.
The shampoo contains his key ingredient, Keratin, which helps to create healthy hair by binding and interacting to re-build hair’s natural fibres to give the lustrous look Richard is famous for creating.
When using the shampoo I was delighted by the subtle yet fragrant scent, also containing Lychee and Strigosa seed I massaged and rinsed doing this twice, feeling how strong my hair became in a matter of moments! The texture of my hair while washing felt smooth and tangle free.

-------------------------------------------------------

Initial Thoughts
Richard Ward Keratin Sleek Conditioner

-£5.99 for 250ml use within 12 months of purchase-

After thoroughly rinsing out the shampoo, I then used the conditioner and applied as directed, massaging from root to tips for 3 minutes. The scent even of the conditioner was beautiful with notes of amber, white jasmine, grapefruit, pear and apple! Using the shampoo and conditioner together personally gives the overall effect of glossier and stronger hair. Since the weather has been pretty up and down here within the UK, My hair has been awful for frizz and de-hydration so this really has been a hair repair!
After blow drying my hair I noticed how glossy it looked and gave my hair more life and strength.

-------------------------------------------------------

Initial Thoughts
Richard Ward Keratin Rehab intense rejuvenating treatment

-£5.99 for 150ml use within 12 months of purchase-

The keratin rehab is a treatment which I also received to try; Its a conditioning treatment with vitamin and silk protein for intense re-hydration. I used this after washing my hair twice with the sleek shampoo, using a generous amount of this treatment through length to tips. It advices 5 minutes in terms of leaving it on the hair before washing it out, or if your hair is in need of complete deep re-hydration 30 minutes maximum. This should be only used every two weeks for the best results!
I personally shall not be using this so often with the shampoo too as alone it has better results for my hair, but of course this shall differ with different hair types!

Richard says:
There’s no substitute for beautiful hair – and nothing creates salon-beautiful hair like expert hair products!”
To find out more about the Chelsea collection you can find these products and more over on the Waitrose website!

These Boots Were Made For Walking - Hi-Tec Review*

Hi-Tec Sierra Lite Origional
Pink Walking Boots Review

All comments and opinions are 100% my own and I've not been paid to say them.

Personally I've never been much of an outdoors walker, I only really had trainers for when I did P.E at school, and they were never seen again once school was over..But since a recent charity walk that I did with my mum for my grandad's charity, It made me realize times like these I wished I had a pair of walking shoes!
Hearing the opportunity to review a pair of walking boots did catch my eye from my recent 6 mile walk achievement! It surely got me in the mood to walk a lot more so I'm very grateful for a professional pair to be part of this new active regime.

Initial Thoughts

  • Arrived quickly within the post with no complications, Packaged well within tissue paper.
  • An amazing pink shade that makes them appear more fashionable when wearing.
  • Light weight so doesn't feel as if you're weighed down when wearing them.
  • Extra support around the ankle with padding.
  • Helps feet to remain dry within weather conditions.
  • Perfect grip on grass, mud and gravel with the rubber out-sole.
  • Long laces which ensure a secure fit and double bow.
  • Removable sock lining for cushioning.

In conclusion these walking boots have given me a new outlook on keeping fit; They are perfect for comfort which I would be worried about when having a new pair of shoes, with none of that annoying rubbing! Having narrow feet has been an issue for finding shoes that fit and are hassle free, when you're thinking of being active you want that complete support and no straining which is why I'd recommend Hi-Tec for anyone who is looking for long lasting yet trendy footwear!

What are your thoughts on walking boots?
Do you think you'll ever try out Hi-Tec? Let me know in the comments!

*NEW* Feature Friday - Sugar and Style 13th of September

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Sugar and Style

It's finally the weekend! And it's Feature Friday here on UniqueLoveStyle, I'm thrilled to have this business featured for you all today; It's the fabulous Sugar + Style!

If you're a complete fashionista like myself then you know how we're always finding a on-line store which has a wide choice of the latests seasonal trends, yet affordable and great delivery service.. Sugar + Style has it all! They've been featured within the press and bloggers have been adoring their pieces, from their knits to floral statement skirts as some of their favourites.
It's been a pleasure to interview the owner and find out more about herself and the business!

-------------------------------------------------------
Interview with Nhuc Tran l Owner of Sugar + Style(formerly China Doll Boutique)

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
I've always wanted to work for myself and to have my own label. I spent the last 5 years working for small independent brands and having a very hands on role in varied departments. I eventually ended up as a consultant working with fashion start up brands but in my last contract role I decided to take the leap and work and start up my brand.

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I love the creativity that having my business allows. Building a brand is hard work but I really enjoy the challenges it brings and it has lots of rewarding moments.

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
Being featured in Vogue was amazing, it's a magazine that I adore and seeing my product in there amongst some of the worlds greatest designers was a great achievement.

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
I'd hopefully still be running Sugar + Style but on a much bigger scale. I would love to open a few boutique stores in the different cities and expand the brand globally.

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
I think it's really important to get enough experience in the industry before launching on your own. Launching your own label is a big commitment so you'd want to make sure you had a good network of contacts and that you really want to put in the hard work to make it work. I specifically targeted smaller/start up companies to work for as I knew it would it would give me an all round experience.

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
Every item is selected by myself so that's a really hard question and I do truly love each and every piece on the Sugar + Style website!

-------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------

A big thank you to Nhuc for her time and participation for this week's Feature!
Look out for your 10% Discount on your first purchase at Sugar+Style and their sale that is currently on too!

*NEW* Feature Friday - Bella Sorella 6th of September

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Bella Sorella

Hello my beauties and happy Friday!! Writing this post still feels very surreal, I never would have thought I'd have this type of opportunity for my still growing blog, but I'm very proud to bring this week's Feature Friday business to you, Bella Sorella!
So some of you may already be aware that Bella Sorella is ran by sisters, Lydia Rose Bright (As seen in The only way is Essex) and Georgia May Bright.
Bella Sorella is a boutique which sells vintage inspired clothing, prom and red carpet dresses, quirky chintzy homeware and gifts (every girls dream!) Their shop was ready in just within 6 weeks with the supportive help by their father, Dave, who painted, re-built and decorated the store while the ladies went out to find the perfect pieces to display and sell in their dream boutique.
This has been a long dream for the sisters, and they've worked so hard to get where they have done.

'Under a year after Lydia started 'TOWIE' the show was already going global, (something none of the cast members ever predicted). Lydia was fast becoming an icon in the fashion industry as well as a household name. Whilst Lydia absolutely loved her new found fame, being a regular face appearing in magazines, on television and attending glitzy red carpet soirées, her passion for opening a boutique grew stronger. She longed for a place where she could showcase her unique fashion sense and quirky, vintage style (which many fans had grown to love).'

I still recall admiring Lydia's Vintage chic style on the show, it made me personally feel that we should all dare to style how we want to; if you enjoy it and you feel beautiful when wearing it then that's all that matters!

This is a new way to present my Feature Friday interview with you all but I hope you enjoy it!
