----------------------------------------------------------

Interview with Kimberly Czelusniak l SkinCareGuru4u

1) What has been your key inspiration to beginning your blog?
My key inspiration is my incredible passion for helping people maintain their healthy skin & healthy body!  For the last 15 years I have working for many large Skin Care / Beauty corporations as a Business Development Manager (B2B sales) and saw that when companies put profit before people things can get a little blurry.
Compiling my 20 + years experience I felt I would have a bigger impact guiding people in making the best choice for their individual skin care needs.
I am very ingredient savvy and myself having Gluten and Dairy allergies I became very aware of how challenging this is for both the Aesthetician and the client to find products to put on their skin that where safe and did not pose any risk to their overall health and wellness.  With that said, I have also started GlutenFreeGlam -http://paper.li/SkinCareGuRu4U/1369499424 a news letter and twitter account @glutenfreeglam  dedicated to help guide people in make educated choices all the while keeping their Glam on!

2) What do you enjoy the most about blogging?
I really enjoy being free to give skincare advice that is not specifically related to any one product brand.  This is how I earned a living for most of my career ( and I am thankful for all my successes) but I have to say....it is really refreshing to be able to help people make choices based on their specific skin care needs & lifestyle choice (be they looking for organic products or Gluten free products), their investment level and skin care goals rather than being limited or boxed into one brand!  It has been liberating!

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' blog moment?
My biggest moment, so far, was all started from a connect I achieved through microblogging (twitter) with Mark A. McKenney - aka - @MarktheSpaMan.  He asked if I would be interested in submitting an article for Dermascope Magazine! Dermascope Magazine has always been the bible of Aesthetics all over the world!  My article "10 Things About...Volunteering in your Community" was published in the June 2013 issue!
I read my first Dermascope while in Aesthetics school and my teacher, Lisa Gaudreau, a CIDESCO Diplomat and a Outstanding Mentor gave me a few of hers to read.  As the years have passed we fell out of touch but I did notice she LIKED my Dermascope article through the powers of social media!!!  That speaks to how far our reach can go with the social networking available to us all.... like us connecting across the world...it is very exciting to broaden my range of connections and influence!

4) Where do you see yourself and blog develop in the future?
This is a thrilling time for me!  I will be launching a new website in mid- July - www.skincareguruforyou.com and linking my GlutenFreeGlam site to it!  It will offer skincare advice, focus on GlutenfreeDairyFree products, Organic living advice, clean eating, relaxation, and eventually (end of 2013) I will be selling a few select brands (that I am currently accessing) from my site!

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the blogging path like yourself?
GET on twitter and network!  Start reading all you can on social media...things are never going back to traditional marketing....so get on the train and don't let naysayers dampen your desire!

6) Which would you say is your favourite type of blog post to do?
The INFO dump!  I like to pick a skincare topic (say sun damage) and go over a brief history of how you get it (causes & effect) and then provide a variety of different options to treat the resulting sun damage (correct).  I  will outline a variety of treatment options (natural skincare, clinical options, at home treatments) and to wrap it up I go over prevention (so they stop it from happening again)!  I like to deliver helpful information to a specific skin challenge and give some choices to treat it...we all like to have choices!

7) 3 Must have beauty items you couldn't be without?
My 3 (only 3!!!) beauty item must haves -
  • A great BB cream - I am currently using Lumene with Vitamin C Illuminating  AntiAging BB cream with SPF 20
  • Tilth Beauty Ressurect Eye Cream - www.tilthbeauty.com I recently discovered this line - the whole line is GlutenFree Dairy Free - No petro chemicals, No SLS,  no animals by products - it is AWESOME!  The eye cream is perfect for those with allergies...no irritation and yet it still works to tighten the skin under your eye and diminishes lines in a flash! LOVE LOVE LOVE
  • Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara in BLACK
--------------------------------------------------

Feel free to drop on over to her social sites where you connect with her lovely self! It's been such an honour to learn more about you Kimberly I know for sure who I'll ask for all skincare advice!

Check out her links and have a fabulous weekend!

Picking Up The Pieces OOTN - Paloma Faith Concert 15th of June

This has been such an exciting post for me to write and show my readers, mainly because this is my first OOTN post along with another first, going to an outdoor concert!

It was back within the month of mother's day when my uncle and partner asked me if I'd like to go to an outdoor concert with them; they've been to a few such as seeing Will Young and Simply Red and always told me how much of a overwhelming experience it is. For them to then say that Paloma Faith will be the one performing I simply said YES!

I've been a fan of Paloma for years, I adore her vintage sense of style and that she has her own uniqueness about her. It didn't actually sink in that I would be seeing her live till the day came, I had no idea what to wear either! The surrounding was in the forest so I knew I had to be comfy but still represent my own sense of style. So without further a due this was my outfit for the concert!

Cardigan - Primark
Cropped Top - New Look
Denim Pinafore Dress - Primark
Leggings - TopShop
Wedges - TopShop
Hair Bow - Red Herring

---------------------------------------------

Getting to the venue you could literally feel the atmosphere build, we were grateful that the sun actually stayed out so raincoats were not needed horraahh!!

I was overwhelmed with all the people who arrived, it was lovely to see families come together having picnics and enjoying the sunshine.

Paloma's supporting act was the wonderful Marques Toliver, he started off the concert with songs from his debut album Land Of CanAan.

I can definitely see why Paloma chose him as her supporting act, Marques had so much passion in his music and got the crowd pumped up for the evening ahead.

After Marques's performance the black curtain fell and revealed Paloma's setting which got me very excited! It was completely her signature look and I couldn't believe she was moments away from being on the stage!

The crowd started to really gather but I tried my best to find the right spot to see her and get a few snaps for you! As you can see she looked absolutely amazing as always, Paloma performed songs from her album, Fall To Grace and made it an emotional and mind blowing night that I shall never forget.

The wonderful Emma, who is the owner of MyVintage was such a lovely lady to speak to and network with, and it was a pleasure to have this interview with her.

-------------------------------------------------------

Interview with Emma Brown l Owner of MyVintage

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
Without a doubt my Mum is my main inspiration. She had her own business when we were young and even as a widow she managed to keep that going whilst still giving us a wonderful, loving and happy childhood. She inspires me even more now as she is currently kicking cancer whilst still being all round fabulous! I wouldn't be where I am today without my Mum.
2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
People. I love people! Everyday I get to meet and talk to so many different people both in the shop and on my blog, Facebook and Twitter. I love a good chat and now I get to do it for my job! But the ultimate feel-good moment for me has to be when I unite someone with the perfect item of clothing. There is nothing more satisfying and exciting as hearing that gasp and seeing the huge beaming smile of someone emerging from my fitting room in their dream dress! We also frequently have tears of joy in the shop, which is nice too!
3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
In my life my proudest moment was becoming a Mum and that will always be my most important job. In business my proudest moment was the day I opened my shop. It's something I have always dreamed of and we worked so hard to get it all together it was a huge rush of pride when we opened the doors.
4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
Our shop and website are going from strength to strength so for now we will keep growing and hopefully in the future we will be able to open more shops and bring My Vintage to different parts of the country, maybe even the world!
5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
Don't go into it for the money! Your business becomes your life so you have to truly love everything about it. I eat sleep and breath My Vintage and it's an integral part of me, I am never really not working so if I was in it for a quick buck it just wouldn't work. I think it's clear to all my followers, fans and customers that I really love and care for what I do and I think that is why My Vintage has been so successful and continues to be. I will always be here to deliver that personal service to my lovely customers.
6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
Oooooh that's a tough one! There are so many things I could choose! I am going to cheat a little and choose one vintage item and one retro item! For vintage it would have to be this amazing pin-up cartoon print jacket. I love everything comic book so I think this is just amazing and not something I have ever really seen before! For the retro, I would pick this super cute Mini print mod dress - yep it really is covered in cars!
-------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
I'd like to thank Emma and her business for their time and allowing me to let my readers hear more about your stunning company! I'll be making a few sneaky purchases indeed!
To interact with MyVintage you can find out more on their links!

Interview with Emily Tonkin l Tennis Wear Fashion Designer

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career? So many people inspire me to be good and do good,(my dad is definitely one) but I have 2 close friends who I met in my first week at FIDM in LA and they are both so talented, creative and head strong:- they definitely inspired me to go with my heart and create something I am so very proud of.
2) What do you enjoy the most about your job? The creative freedom. Everything you see about/from 30:Fifteen visually from the garments to the website, to the social media pages to our newsletters is all controlled by me. When I see the end product and hear peoples comments/feedback that is by far the best part of my job.
3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment? Graduating from FIDM, I proved a lot of people (myself included) that I had successfully turned my life around for the better and having my mum, Dad and Brother there together to share it with, really made my heart happy.
4) Where do you see yourself in the future? Still doing what I am doing, building 30:Fifteen into a truly successful lifestyle brand, and keeping our partnerships strong.
5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself? Believe in yourself.
6) Which would you say is your favourite item that you've designed at the moment? From our debut collection I just loved the Alethia Dress. It is the same dress Michelle Obama requested, but it is also my favourite of the dresses to play tennis in. It's so flattering to my body shape and it makes me feel very confident/comfortable.

Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend - Crystal Designs*

I was kindly approached on Twitter by Crystal Designs, who are a company that offer handmade fully customisable crystal cases. I was honoured as they asked if I would like to review one of their cases for them, I'm completely in my element with all things girly and glitz so I waited for the post in excitement!

Crystal Designs use completely 100% Genuine Swarovski Crystals when personalising your case ensuring only that the best quality cases are made.

They currently offer cases for iPhone 4, and iPhone 5 but you are welcome to to request a made to order case for all types of phone.
I was sent this iPhone 4 cut out hot pink crystal case it's stunning!

The case only took a few days to arrive which I was impressed with, retailing only at £6 and £1 for Postage and packaging, the reason for the low postage is because they cut the cost of packaging and not putting the cases into a box.

The phone case also came with a free screen protector which I thought was a brilliant idea and this comes with all orders. The case was within a protective clear packet and I couldn't believe how pink it was! It was also a smooth and almost soft to the touch plastic hard case, with silver edging around the cut out areas, which the crystals were delicately placed.

For the price and time put into creating the case I would say its very affordable as well as stylish; It's very eye-catching and in the right lighting it sparkles so beautifully.
Cases come within the following shades, black, white, hot pink and purple and their current designs are the crystal cut-out and the crystal apple.

What are your thoughts on customised cases? I'd love to know; let me know within the comments section of this post!

Art At Your Fingertips - Sparkly-Nails Review*

Hello Lovelies! Hope your all doing well this week; Today I'm bringing to you another Review from the fabulous Sparkly-Nails who kindly sent me these metallic sticker nail art sheets!

The sheets come within a sealed packet and instructions are upon the back to guide you step by step on the correct way of applying the sticker art. If your like me, still practising nail art but usually stuck for designs or the time to fully concentrate, I found these to be a quick and simple way to have your nails looking professionally done in seconds!

I loved that there were a variety of styles and looks that you could create, and I had two occasions in mind which inspired me for the overall nail look. With both weddings and prom very popular within this time of year, I wanted to give my own take on how I could create a quick and easy look.

The nail-art stickers which I received were -

I found that the stickers were detailed and textured yet also delicate so I had to take care using tweezers when handling them. The silver vine stickers were in lines and all connected, so with this in mind I created a French manicure and left it to dry; Then when they were I gently pulled away the clear covering and measured against the nail how much of the sticker I would need to use. Using nail scissors I cut the sticker where needed and lightly picked the edge with tweezers to gradually remove the sticker from the packet, I admit I did find it slightly fiddly because it was so fine but I was proud of my results!

I chose this design to be the wedding theme, mainly because I find it very classic and along with a French manicure it completely sets it off. The nail art I would recommend to be placed either on the full set or just the ring fingers, adorable for the bride!

The gold sunflower designs were such a wonderful idea to turn a bold shade into an eye catching floral style. I chose my Essie nail varnish in the shade, Leading Lady and applied two coats for the background. The sunflowers art can be added in one set, twos or threes, I decided to use the threes and apply to the tip of the dry nail lightly pressing it down with the tip of the tweezers before sealing with a topcoat.

Overall I found these stickers very fun and easy to use! And I look forward to trying different varnishes and art with them.
Which design do you like the most, wedding vine or prom sunflowers?
Let me know in the comments!
