*NEW* Feature Friday - Tofu Cute 31st of May

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Tofu Cute

Happy Friday darlings! Hope you've all had an okay week, not to worry it's now the weekend! And to kick off the weekend here on UniqueLoveStyle I'm bringing to you some more kawaii cuteness! Featuring today is Tofu Cute, an online store specialising in kawaii gifts, accessories, stationery, and tasty Japanese snacks. They're based in the UK, but offer delivery all around the world; and are constantly on the lookout for delightful new items to offer to their customers!

Much of the stock can't be bought elsewhere in the UK or Europe as they source it directly from East Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan & Hong Kong. Often they will stock limited quantities of an item, so if you see something you really like, it’s best to get it quickly!

-------------------------------------------------------

Interview with Rosanna Mackney Creative Director and Buyer at Tofu Cute

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
Japan's obsession with cuteness, and the amazing creativity in product design and graphic design that have sprung from that, have really been a big inspiration. It's great to be a part of helping to spread cute culture over to the UK and Europe!

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I really enjoy going to events with Tofu Cute - we attend a lot of festivals and expos where we set up stalls and run panels, and it's such a lot of fun getting all dressed up and meeting people with common interests. Also as I'm the main buyer, this means a lot of product research, which involves going to Asia every year to source all the latest cute items - basically a huge shopping trip! \(^o^)/

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
Being featured in a book all about cute culture ("Hello, Cutie") which was published last year was a proud achievement. It's rewarding to see something I've designed on the computer be printed/made in real life, for example banners and products. Also if a product I've selected to be sold at Tofu Cute proves to be super popular, that's a good feeling too, as it means I have a good handle on what people find cute!

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
I've never really fancied a conventional career and I love the control and flexibility that I have in this job, so I can't imagine doing anything else! TofuCute.com has a new "sister site" which is currently under development and due to launch next month - it's called DreamyBows.com, and it specialises in cute Japanese street fashion. I hope to be involved in that a lot in the future, as I love the Hime Gyaru and Sweet Lolita styles!

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
If there is a particular subject or sector you're interested in, no matter how obscure, keep persevering! Jobs are in short supply and high demand at the moment, but if you pursue something you're truly passionate about, that enthusiasm will shine through to potential employers. We spend a lot of our lives at work, so to be doing something you love will make you a lot happier, even if you have to do rubbish part time jobs in order to get where you want to be. Also, don't be afraid to take reasonable, educated risks to start your own business if that's your passion - you can even go into the venture with friends, to spread the risk!

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
It's quite hard to choose! >_< I love the Pastel Alpaca Cases because alpacas are just the cutest animals. Then there's the Endless Edamame Popping Soybeans, one of our classic products - but I'm a bit biased because I designed the faces on the little beans for those! In the Snacks category, I love Panda Pocky because it's delicious cookies and cream flavour and the packaging is really cute. But the Popin' Cookin' DIY Candy kits are just the zaniest things I've seen, they're amazing!

-------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------
I'm pleased to let you know that any orders over £20 receive free postage! So go on over to see what cute and unique products you can buy!
Thank you so much for your involvement Tofu Cute, was such a pleasure to feature you and hear more about your own thoughts on the business.

I'm always a Tofu Cute fan for sure!

------------------------------------------------------------------

Interview with Ria l at Something Kawaii

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?

We decided to start the website after our trip to Hong Kong and seeing all the kawaii stuff  they had to offer. Coming back to the UK, we realised that there wasn't so much of that over here and it'd be great to start a business that brings all of the cuteness to the UK.

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?

Discovering new products that are not yet available in the UK and are really unique is probably the best bit about my job. Also visiting trade shows and meeting people who are as passionate about kawaii things as we are.

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?

The redesign of Something Kawaii and seeing the new characters that we'd created has definitely been our proudest moment! To see our vision on the screen and printed out in banners and badges was an amazing experience!

 4) Where do you see your business in the future?

We'd love to open up actual shops around the country to spread the cuteness.

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?

Patience and perseverance are key to having your own business. Once you've found your niche, believe in it!

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?

We love the kawaii dust plugs at the moment! Personalising your phone whilst keeping it clean and looking cute.

T ' was The Night After Christmas..*

Hello Lovelies i'm back with another exciting review! This is very out of the norm for me but it's a start of a new regular involvement i'm hoping to have here at UniqueLoveStyle.

Today's review is for a wonderful company, www.SimplyFancyDress.co.uk whom gave me the opportunity to review one of their Christmas outfits for them!

    (Tutu Elf Costume)

As of being contacted, we as bloggers were given the chance to choose a costume off their website, specifically Christmas related. It was ever so hard to pick as there was so much choice! From cute female Mrs clause to a sweet angel I focused mainly on the size and availability of each outfit to make my overall choice on reviewing their adorable yet sassy, Tutu Elf Costume.

The service which I received was very professional and they ensured that I had all the information that I needed; They posted out the costume much quicker than expected and was packed wonderfully to ensure all contents were kept together.

The outfit's material is 100% Polyester and I adore the tutu skirt itself! From removing it out of its packaging I hung it for a couple of days so that the skirt part would relax to its full effect. Over on their website as you order, your shown how the item will look upon models with photographs at different angles and zoom ins too which helps pick up every detail of what you will be receiving. Listed also is the costume's sizes with helpful heights and measurements included too, and as you select overall they state how many of the costume they have in stock at that time!

The colours are wonderful, perfect for the festive season as its very much an eye catcher! And i find the bust top is comfortable as it stretches and fits nicely to the figure.

What's perfect is that with anything you order you can get 5 working days delivery for free wonderful for those fancy dress parties you will be asked to attend!

*NEW* Feature Friday- Randomeyes Boutique 23rd of November

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Randomeyes Boutique

Today's feature is based upon a wonderful and quirky company, Randomeyes Boutique! Randomeyes Boutique jewellery and accessories share a uniquely quirky twist - they are random everyday objects...with kawaii inspired googly eyes!

I'm a big fan of all things cute and kitsch, and coming across this adorable selection of jewellery and accessories i was completely within my element. The website layout in general is presented clearly with both text and images that regard what they create, their concept and also what's new on their site!

(Custard Cream Necklace)

I find the detailing alone of the products so realistic, but do remember you can't eat them! The products are very unique and eye-catching with affordable prices perfect for a Christmas gift too.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I was able to have a very wonderful interview with the owner herself; here are her thoughts and it was such a pleasure to hear more about herself and Randomeyes Boutique!

Interview with Karen(AKA Ren)lRandomeyes Boutique Owner

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?

A) Japanese culture has played a significant role in the development of the Randomeyes Boutique style. I've always loved kawaii characters ie. 'things' with faces, and this undoubtedly influences my designs. However, I've also battled with mental health problems for the majority of my life, so having a creative outlet has been a natural progression for me. I often find social interaction challenging...so giving random objects their own 'personalities' seemed like the obvious thing to do! I actually have a section of my website dedicated to the mental health charity Mind (http://randomeyesboutique.co.uk/category/2229-randomeyes-boutique-charity.aspx) to try and raise awareness, and funds, for this very worthy cause.

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?

A) I get a lot of satisfaction from the knowledge that there are people walking around wearing something I've designed and made myself. It's a real confidence boost. I also enjoy seeing the look on people's faces when they see my products for the first time, like at craft fairs and other promotional events. A lot of people do a double-take as they're walking past, then they stop to take a closer look and soon start laughing, as what they're seeing is so unexpected! Knowing I've brought a bit of humour to someone's day is priceless.

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?

A) I think my proudest moment so far has got to be when I was invited to launch Randomeyes Boutique as an official 'brand' at the Clothes Show Live 2010. Up until this point it had just been a hobby for me, so to then have a stall amongst some of the most famous brands around at such a high profile event was amazing! It was a great opportunity to meet my customers face-to-face too, and I received a lot of really positive feedback.

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?

A) I would like to get Randomeyes Boutique products into a few more 'brick and mortar' shops, but I will always steer clear of high street chains in favour of the smaller, independent boutiques. Somewhere along the line I would like to create a few character graphics based around my charms and put them onto stationery, t-shirts and greetings cards etc. That's always appealed to me. It's just finding the time to actually do it that's tricky!

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?

A) You need to love what you do, or there's no point in doing it! Only listen to criticism when it's constructive, and don't let people's opinions get you down. For every person who hates your products, there may be 10 who love them, so they're the ones you should focus on. You will never be able to please everybody, so don't try to cater for every possible market - find your niche and aim to dominate it. Make sure there's something unique about your products that make them stand out from the competition. If you're passionate about something, just go for it!

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?

A) I have several items I really like, but I think my favourite are the biscuit necklaces. I couldn't decide between them though! I make each of the biscuits by hand and they're super-realistic, so it's torture being surrounded by them but not be able to eat them! I've lost count of the amount of times I've been asked 'Are those biscuits real?'!

-------------------------------------------------------------

It's a joy to feature such a remarkable business, as well as they donate to a charity close to my heart using their hand crafted products, you can see how much time and dedication they have put in to each and every piece of jewellery and accessory!

This is one of my favourite item's from their website especially for the Christmas season coming up!

 (Large Christmas Holly Necklace
£5.25)

I wish you all the greatest success with your business Karen! I'm sure you will go very far. It really was an honour to feature you!

If you could choose any item off Randomeyes Boutique to be your favourite..Which would it be? Let me know in the comments below!

Overwhelming Swap With LifeInABreakDown ❤

Hello Lovelies! This is a brand new style of blog post for me but I have been really excited to publish this! Some of you were aware of the International beauty swap that was hosted by the lovely LolaStarHearts and BBloggers Unite. When I heard about this opportunity of doing a beauty swap I jumped at the chance as this would be my first ever!
At first i had no idea what to expect, but the whole organisation was really professional and we could all choose where in the world we would want to swap products with the most..Due to this being my first time i wanted to start off just simply with someone who was in the UK so I could understand the concept, build the confidence and learn the postal rates! haha :)

Due to the organising I received an email from Lola detailing whom I have been partnered with for the swap and this was the kind hearted, Sarah. We swapped twitters and from there built a great friendship, talking about our interests and what type of products we would love to try even to our most worn colours! I think I was very lucky to have such a great swap partner who was consistent when it came to messaging and communicating as it made me feel more relaxed; Sarah knew it was also my birthday coming up during the swap so she organised her package to come before so that I could open it during my time away! I was so tempted to open it before but I behaved and waited lol!

The package arrived safely and was packed very well with no breakages! Opening the box revealed this gorgeous bag, I adore it! I knew already that Sarah read me so well as soon as I saw this and gosh there were so much more to come that I really didn't expect!

This cute bag is a 90% recycled product which makes it even more special! And the base material of the bag has been made from recycled plastic bottles! I'm very sure I will take this along with me for future picnics with my little niece!

She also put in a sweet card which also took me by surprise because the front was cute owls! Eeek so adorable how she put this in and the wonderful thought she put into the words. There were a packet of Haribo sweets that yes.. I did enjoy! Lol which explains why they are not featured within the pictures ^_^

The next thing that I saw was a sheer silver organza bag which contained wonderful samples to test! This included -
* Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint in Beige 02
* Nivea Visage Pure & Natural Regenerating Night Cream
* L'Occitane Exfoliating Gel
* L'Occitane Ultra Gentle Moisturizer
*Voya bright eyes, anti-aging eye creme
*Korres Wild Rose 24hr Moisturizer

As I go back through the cute bag the next item I pull out is a gorgeous scented Yankee candle which is in the scent - Fluffy Towels which such a fresh and relaxing scent! I'm starting to collect various Yankee Candles so this is perfect for my collection.

Then there was a small set perfect for on the go which was a Russian doll theme which i once had many years ago, this included a pocket mirror which is great for any handbag! Tweezers and mini nail files! Loved the quirkiness to this set!

Along with the Russian doll theme she had also sent me a Punky Pins perspex necklace which is beautiful and so me! I was so overwhelmed at his point which you can gather!

What else did LifeInABreakDown include?

*Montagne Jennesse Dry Skin Mask with 2 steps - Perfect as I have dry areas on my face and having a testing mask session to find new ones to try so can't wait to use this!

Handbags And The Gladrags..Gorgeous ClaireabellaBags*

Everyone has something that they enjoy having a collection of; whether its shoes, scarfs, sunglasses, earrings etc i would always conclude that i'm a lover of bags.
It's true! I would have to be sure that with what i'm wearing the bag goes well with it, or that i always have a handy clutch for an evening occasion or even a Large bag for those weekends away! But what i adore most, are the fun and quirky bags that catches people's eye when you walk past and they would stop to ask where did you get this from?

A new fashion must have has come onto the scene and that is the personalised tote bag!
When i first found out about these bags of course i went a little crazy and was hoping to find out more about them, who makes them etc. There are many wonderful companies who make these by hand and they are perfect for bag lovers, a special gift, and an ideal Christmas present!

I was ever so lucky to be in touch with the ClaireaBella team who have a brand new website packed with information and of course on how to order one of these gorgeous bags of your own!

The creativity has been brought to a new scale, and of course i adore all things handmade and unique which is why i was thrilled to have one of my own to review for you all!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are my own thoughts and personal views, all comments and opinions are 100% genuine and my own and I have not been paid to do so.
-----------------------------------------------------

I had come home from my weekend away for my 22nd birthday and on the side was a cute pink package. I ran quickly upstairs into my room to open it carefully, revealing inside the most gorgeous tote bag i have ever seen with a ClaireaBella card along with it. I can still re-call myself sitting for almost half an hour looking at the time and effort put into making such a beautiful product that reflects my personality in a whole!
I love how it's a work of art that is personal to myself, with added glitter, rhinestones, silk bow and a charm it really sets the whole bag off; A complete must have item ClaireaBella bag's are completely worth what the recommendations say! I thought it was a lovely gesture to add a card too which includes their social sites and a lovely thank you message for every order! On their website i read more information about the founder and she is such a sweet woman with a talent that i'm very proud to see grow with many and i do wish all the best with her future.
The tote fabric itself is a soft texture and within its been nicely covered that if you put anything inside that tips over it can easily be wiped off and yes these bags are also weatherproof wowzas!

My only tip to you all would be if you were to order one, ensure you look after it well so it doesn't get marked! So be careful when you do go out and about with it hehe.
ClaireaBella doesn't do just personalised bags but mugs, phone-cases, hoodies to even lunch-boxes! So adorable for the little ones! And the prices are fantastic too; as you can see with every product how much time and talent has been put in to design each and every one.

This would make a perfect gift and i am sure i shall be treating some people to something ClaireaBella this Christmas!

--Placed my picture next to the bag to show how much they can match the way you look!--

For your own chance to check out the lovely ClaireaBella here are the links you need!

And they are also on twitter so go share some love!

HipHopCandy Review!*

How did I come across these adorable products?

Whilst reading some online blogs one day, I found such a sweet kawaii and all things cute blog that i couldn't help but read! I'm becoming very much a fan of japanese kawaii related products and luckily enough this blog was promoting a small business that i fell straight in love with!

The name of the business is HipHopCandy and for a small business, they have tons of cute and kitsch products and i was so thrilled to be given the chance to write a review for them!

What type of products would i be able to find on their website?

If you like all things cute, unique and sweet, or know someone who does and would love to find somewhere that is reasonably priced for that perfect gift HipHopCandy have such a range to look through such as:
  • Accessories and goods
  • Bath and body
  • Buttons
  • Gift packaging
  • Home fragrance
  • Jewellery
  • Shirts
  • Stationary

I just adore how welcoming and sweet even the website layout is, it's very well put together and easy to navigate without any issues! With other websites they are connected through such as youtube, facebook and twitter, you can keep in the know of any updates to products and get any help if needs be so easily(I must say I love a company that can be interactive with their customers!)

Products that i received to review for HipHopCandy

With this website and the amount of products that sounded so unique and good enough to eat, reviewing for them was an exciting and fun experience! The staff of the business was very helpful and informative when speaking with me and the delivery was very fast and well packed so everything came in tact!
This following review is all my own honest opinions and i have not been paid to do so, my comments are 100% my own words and thoughts.

Frosted Cupcake - Foaming body wash
2oz $4.25

Now as i'm very much a fan of cupcakes, whether they are the real thing or just scented etc seeing this foam wash in the packet I was thrilled! Straight away I easily unscrewed the cap and smelled the yummy body wash contained within; the scent itself is unbelievable and i was so shocked at how realistic it was!
It smelt exactly how I imagined and yes although it smelt good enough to eat i must warn that it is not edible! -giggles-

How to use-

It is ideal to put a desired amount onto a wash cloth and personally i would put a 50 pence sized amount on as this wash produces lots of creamy lather and bubbles! basically rub it into the skin and then wash off completely, leaving the skin clean and sweet scented!

Would I recommend the foaming washes by this company?

Indeed i would! Not only is the size bottle perfect for travelling but they have such a variety of scents for example: cotton candy, melon soda, vanilla peach and raspberry lemonade your spoilt for choice if you love something more unique and sweet! Along with the foaming washes you can also find soap bars, bath salts and even body sprays all handmade I would have to give thumbs up for such creativity and imagination this business has!

Vampire Kiss - red raspberry and pomegranate lipbalm
$3.50

Very surprised when I had also found this item and with the name suggests I was curious on what the scent would be like and how it would feel on the lips.
The scent once opened is subtle yet very fruity and the raspberry overpowers the pomegranate scent, but i must say it is a nice combination; there was also a slight adding of menthol too so when it is applied there can be a tingling sensation on the lips. The texture is very soft, sheer and moisturising and the ingredients are also natural like candelilla wax, soy lipids, and beeswax.
And for this i always find natural ingredients to be so much better for the skin and this was the case for the lip balm!
I thought the packaging/theme was cute also and very different from any other lipbalm i have come across i wasn't expecting such a fruity scent for a vampire theme balm!
As this is one of many scents this website also supplies ones such as: mint choc chip, Creamy Cappuccino, peanut butter and jelly and much more! and it is definitely a great price!

My opinions are that there is so much to look at its a website perfect for all cute and kawaii lovers and i would definitely recommend this to all my readers!

This was also added into my package a robot acrylic phone charm!
So adorable <3
