New Feature Friday!
Featuring Rag and Magpie on the 2nd of November
Some of you may or may not have guessed that having a feature Friday was something i was hoping to hold here on my blog! And with that, i am more than happy to announce that UniqueLoveStyle's first feature is with the wonderful RagandMagpie.co.uk, whom started off as an ebay store that sold alternative and vintage wonders and from their positive feedback from their customers, founder Bella Stefani decided to leave her job designing at a UK boutique chain and go it alone!
The website in general is very well laid out, with easy navigation and clear photography the products have been displayed to capture them at their best. From clothing to vintage living this website truly has it all for your vintage needs!
If your one of my international followers you will be pleased to know that they do ship internationally, and is clearly detailed to help you from finding your item to checking out at the end.
I noticed how kind and helpful Bella was, she was such a pleasure to be in contact with and along this i held an interview with her just to find out a bit more about her and her shop through her eyes!
Interview with Bella|Rag and Magpie
1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
A: Having trained in fashion design, worked as a graphic designer for some time and having always had a passion for vintage living and style; it was the ideal path to combine my skills and interests. Since starting Rag and Magpie I finally get do do all the things I love; scouring markets collecting vintage, designing artwork for the site and meeting lovely designers, models and other entrepenours who love vintage and retro lifestyle like I do.
2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
A: Finding an interesting piece of vintage I’ve not seen before and learning all about its history. You can learn so much about how people used to live.
3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
A: My proudest moments were when some of our items bought and used in the TV BBC show The House The 50’s Built was a highlight for me, I loved that show! And more recently learning that Vintage Life magazine hope to feature us in their forthcoming issue!
4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
A: Right here! I love what I do and hope to grow Rag and Magpie further, I hope to expand the collection so that a year from now all the categories of the shop are crammed with with more wonderful vintage treasures, to find more retro brands to work with and perhaps pick up an assistant along the way.
5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
A: Surround yourself with people who share your love for whatever it is you do, being you own boss can be a lonely business.
6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
A: My favourite item currently in store is an adorable dress suit from the 1950s-1960s from Bourne & Hollingsworth. It’s not too dressy but I like 1930s – 1950s daywear more than anything. I love it not just because I’m a sucker for nautical stripes and because it shows of all the right curves but because it has a cut typical of the era and gave me the opportunity to discover bygone Bourne & Hollingsworth department store and it’s history.
Here are a few favourite piece's of Bella's From her shop!
I can see why these are some of her favourites! The pricing for the products i would say are reasonable, my favourites have to be the gorgeous vintage hats, they range within every colour imaginable, perfect when matching up with that special outfit for a vintage twist! Their jewellery is modern yet vintage inspired but very cute and quirky which i'm sure i'll be purchasing for this season; Also the models whom were photographed for the fashion side of the website were styled wonderfully! from head to toe they showed that vintage style is fun and should be enjoyed, and can make any female feel that bit glamorous and sexy!
Was such a honour to feature Rag and Magpie's website, Will you be checking out their wears? May have to start updating that christmas list i'm sure!
